When children experience stress, they communicate this through displaying a variety of symptoms. These are ways children let us know that they need help and someone to talk to. Children communicate through play. I utilize play therapy techniques to provide children a safe place to express their thoughts and feelings.

Children are often referred to me due to:

  • Appearing sad, isolating, or feeling unmotivated
  • Feeling nervous or displaying anxious thoughts and behaviors
  • Having experienced a recent stressor or traumatic event
  • Difficulty adjusting to changes in their environment
  • Self-esteem issues
  • Trouble focusing or concentrating
  • Fighting or being defiant at school or home
  • Difficulty making friends
  • Poor academic performance

If your child is experiencing such difficulties, I am here to help. I work with children of all ages and I am dedicated to supporting them when and where they need the most. I work closely with parents and caregivers so the skills children learn during our sessions can be transferred to the school and home setting.
